Mickel Allen Chinn Sr.
(May 23, 1942 - February 4, 2014)



Mickel Allen Chinn, Sr., 71 of Kenova, WV, husband of Rita Shavers Chinn, passed away Tuesday February 4, 2014 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm Friday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor David Mullins. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. He was born May 23, 1942 in Cabell County, WV, a son of Virginia Martin Chinn and the late Walter Chinn. He was a truck driver with Cook Motor Lines and a Veteran of the US Navy. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two special aunts Sylvia Black and Edna McCown. Additional survivors include two sons Mickel Allen Chinn, Jr. and Ricky Lee Chinn; daughter Diana Lynn White; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; brothers Joseph L. Chinn and Roger D. Chinn; sisters Louise Adkins, Beverly Slayton and Verta Slayton and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 11 am until service time Friday at the Reger Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the family to help with burial expenses. American Legion Post 93 of Kenova will conduct military graveside rites.
