Obituary

Walter Merlen Perdue
(April 22, 1925 - February 28, 2014)



Walter Merlen "Duty" Perdue, 88, of Huntington, passed away Friday February 28, 2014. Walter was the son of the late Walter A. and Isabelle Gibson Perdue of Ceredo, WV. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by two brothers Earl and Leonard Perdue. Survivors include two sons Steven (Juliette) Perdue and Kristopher (Deborrah) Perdue whom he made his home with; three grandchildren Scott, Melissa Gold and Heather (Bill) Martino and three great grandchildren Kodey and Kaleb Perdue and John Steven Gold and a brother Lowell Perdue. Walter was a former Ceredo City Councilman and served in the US Navy during WWII. He was a retired yard conductor with N&W Railway. Walter was also a Kentucky Colonel. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:30 PM Tuesday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor Scott Byard. Burial will follow in Docks Creek Cemetery, Kenova, WV. Friends may call from 6 to 8 pm Monday at the Reger Funeral Home.
