ObituaryJulia Ruth Watts
Julia Ruth Watts, 66, of Barboursville, WV, peacefully passed away March 11 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House after a heroic 8 year battle with breast cancer. She was born August 12, 1944, in Huntington, WV. She was a graduate of Huntington East High School. She retired from the Cabell County Magistrate Court as a Deputy Clerk. She was a member of Beulah Ann Missionary Baptist Church, the Democrat Women's Club of Cabell County, the Red Hat Society of Barboursville, the Sisters of Hope Breast Cancer Support Group and a long time member of Barboursville Chapter No. 95, Order of the Eastern Star, who will conduct services at 7:30 p.m. at the visitation. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Martha Johnson, who raised her. She is survived by her husband, Robert Watts, a daughter and son-in-law, Misha and Earnest Ross Jr., a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Dr. Shannon Watts and a very special granddaughter, Lilli Ross. She also leaves a sister-in-law, Marsha Gladwell and her husband Don of Rocky Mount, N.C., one nephew, two great nephews, several cousins and many close friends including Julie Callicoat, Tami Garvin, Ronda Baker, Julie Brewer and Wilma Smith. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. Kimmey and all the staff at HIMG Oncology. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. on Monday the 14th at Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday the 15th at the funeral home with Pastor Paul Meadows officiating. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Donations may be made to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House or the Sisters of Hope Breast Cancer Support Group, Attn: Gigi Gerlach, Cabell Huntington Hospital. It was Julia's request that all visitors wear something pink to honor her fight with breast cancer.
