Obituary

JAMES STEPHEN "WHIRLY BIRD" EDMONDS
(September 10, 1942 - October 26, 2014)

JAMES "WHIRLY BIRD" STEPHEN EDMONDS, 72, of Ona, passed away October 26, 2014 at Cabell Huntington Hospital. He was born September 10, 1942 in Cabell County, a son of the late Henry Virgil and Margaret Mount Edmonds. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during Vietnam. He is survived by his wife, Diana Gail Williams Edmonds; two sons, James Edmonds Jr. and Travis Edmonds; three sisters, Freda Jeffers, Hazel Dailey and Patty Sollie; four brothers, Arnold, Virgil, Richard and Harvey Edmonds; and two grandchildren, Anakin and Brandon. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 1, 2014 at the Wallace Funeral Home and Chapel, Barboursville, by Pastor Don Wheeler. Entombment will be in Forest Memorial Park, Milton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family or funeral home to help with arrangements.
