ObituaryDonald Lee Spurlock
Donald Lee Spurlock, 79, of Huntington, WV, went home to be with his Lord on October, 13, 2014 at St. Marys Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday October, 17, 2014 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville by Pastor Basil Hudson. Entombment will be in White Chapel Mausoleum in Barboursville, WV. Don was born April 7, 1935, in Wayne County WV. He was a Metlife Insurance Agent for forty-six years and a member for thirty-five years and currently the secretary/treasurer of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. He was a longtime member of 26th Baptist Church, a member of the gospel quartet, The Nobleman, and a volunteer for Gideons International and Big Brothers and Sisters. He was preceded in death by his older brother, Thomas Odell Spurlock, his mother, Daisy Mae McDonald-Spurlock, his father Alfonzo Spurlock, and his great-grandson, Kamrin Brown. He is survived by his spouse of 39 years, Nancy G. Spurlock, four daughters, Shelly Fuller of Ona, WV, Kandi McAleese and Scott Brown of Seattle, WA, Kelli and Kerry Wilcoxen of Raleigh, NC and Jennifer and Grant Medford of Benton, AR, two sons, Terry and Vickie Spurlock of Barboursville, WV, and Tony Spurlock of Huntington, WV, one sister, Betty and Bob Morris of FL, two brothers, Charles Walker and Betty Spurlock of Barboursville, WV and Alfonzo and Phyllis Spurlock Jr. of Alabama, nine grandchildren, Laura Brown of Huntington, WV, Emily and Aaron Turner of Orlando, FL, Matthew and Melissa Spurlock of Grants Pass, OR, Becky Fuller of Barboursville, WV, Mary Ann Spurlock of Barboursville, WV, Kenna Spurlock of Milton, WV, Megan and Meredith Medford of Benton, AR and Trey McAleese of Seattle, WA, four great-grandchildren, Mason Brown and Madison Inman of Huntington, WV, Joelee Dino of Barboursville, WV, and Max Spurlock of Grants Pass, OR, and very special friends, John D. White and Don Henderson. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville.
