Jefferson
Thomas Fletcher Jefferson, 86, of Huntington, WV, passed away October 10, 2014 at home. He was born October 2, 1928 in Barboursville, son of the Homer and Elizabeth Perdue Jefferson. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Van Dyke, Homer Lee, and Bert Jefferson, and one sister, Genevieve Roberts. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He graduated from Marshall University with a degree in Philosophy. He retired from Exxon Mobil, Valspar, and Sherwin Williams but continued to venture in business. He was a member of Pea Ridge United Methodist Church, Huntington. Tom looked forward to attending Sunday church and seeing his friends. Before his illness he thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, and working in the yard. He is survived by his wife, Linda Paugh Jefferson; four children, Delara Jefferson Teague (Woody) of Raleigh, NC, Bonnie Jefferson Parker of Dallas Fortworth, TX, Todd Jefferson (Cindy) of Simpsonville, SC, and Rodney Moehling of Salt Rock, WV; Bernice Jefferson, the mother of his three children; grandchildren, Colter and Katharine Teague, Eddie Vallandingham, Michael Vallandingham (Isabel) and Jenny Stinson (Reggie), Olivia Jefferson, Camille and Candice Norton, Palmer and Preston Moehling; five great-grandchildren, Parker, Elle, Daniel, Jake and Miguel; one special cousin, Martin Jefferson; and nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Dr. Myron Lewis, HIMG for being so caring and attentive to Tom during his illness. We'll be ever so grateful and thankful to Hospice of Huntington for giving Tom such tender loving care. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, October 13, 2014 at Pea Ridge United Methodist Church, East Pea Ridge, Huntington, by Rev. Gary Shepard. Visitation will be two hours before the funeral. Burial will be at Oaklawn Memorial Park
