Russell Davis Batten
(January 20, 1940 - February 27, 2015)



Russell Davis Batten, 75, of Barboursville passed away February 27, 2015 at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville by Pastor Jerry Matt. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. He was born January 20, 1940 in Charlottesville, VA, a son of the late Vernon and Eunice Walton Batten. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Pauley Batten. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Jonathan Appell of Barboursville; two step- daughters, Sherrie Lahon of Barboursville and Sheila Rush of Newport News, VA; three sisters and brothers- in-law, Ethel and Ron Harlow of Palmyra, VA, Gloria and Franklin Smith of Wilmington, NC and Anna and Paul Johnson of Lawton, OK; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Vernon and Barbara Batten of Crozet, VA and Grover and Susan Batten of Richmond, VA; aunt, Alma Gibson of Crozet, VA; uncle, Herbert Batten of Dyke, VA; grandchildren, Michael and his wife Valerie Sweany Watts, Matt Lambe, Glenn Dodds, Jonathan Appell, and Jason Dodds; and great-grandchildren, Cameron Watts, Madison Sweany, Aaron Bills and Katie Dodds. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville.
