Charles H. Martin
(1940 - April 17, 2017)



Charles Hannan Martin, 76, of Barboursville, WV was gifted his heavenly body on Monday, April 17, 2017 surrounded by his family. Charles was the son of the late Jesse Hannan and Ardith Allbright Martin of Logan, WV. He was preceded in death by brothers Don Martin and Doug Martin and stepbrother Donnie McCallister. He is survived by his wife Martha (Childers) Martin and their four children: two sons Jeff (Terri) Martin and Joe (Lynn) Sullivan, and two daughters Angie (Todd) Taylor and Karen (Jerry) Williams; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren: JD (Ashley) Sullivan (Idalis, Gracie and Jace), Tiffany (Richie) Martin (Keagan), Heather (Yann) Dreano (Liam), Craig (Brittany) Sullivan (Riley and Madison), Shane Rogers and Josh Knight. He is also survived by his sister Janelle Goins. Charles loved life and was well-known for always wanting to put a smile on everybody's face and you could make him happy by simply wearing that smile. He was married 46 years to Martha with whom he raised their loving family. He worked 3l years at McGinnis Inc. in South Point, Ohio. McGinnis Inc. recognized Charles' service by naming a tow boat the C.H. Martin in 2005. After his retirement, Charles devoted his life to tee times and sweet teas. Those of you who knew Charles know he is already on the back nine at Augusta National. Funeral services will be held at Wallace Funeral Home in Barboursville, WV on Thursday, April 20, 2017. Visitation for friends and family from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Services will start at 1 p.m. Burial at Apple Grove Memorial Gardens, Apple Grove, WV.
