Obituary

Lauren Elizabeth Oney
(June 13, 1982 - April 16, 2017)

Lauren Elizabeth Oney, 34, of Barboursville, unexpectedly passed away on Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017. She was born in Ashland, Ky on June 13, 1982. She is the daughter of Anita and the late “Buddy” Woodrum of Barboursville, WV and Arnold and Marsha Oney of Grayson, Kentucky. She is survived by her beloved partner Jerry McComas and their two children, Peyton and Silas. Additional family include two sisters, Amy Moore (Tim), Aleigh Zimmerman (Elijah) and niece and nephew, Lia and Brennan Moore. Grandparents include Hershel and Janice Miller, the late Bert Felty, and the late Amos and Stella Oney. She was a graduate of the Cabell Midland High School Class of 2001 and attended Marshall University. She was a member of Expression Church, a community that accepted her unconditionally. Lauren had a smile on her face, joy in her heart and a love of life that attracted many friends. She was a loyal friend that was always there for anyone who needed a helping hand. Lauren enjoyed many outdoor activities, including hunting, fishing, and live music. Her compassionate and nonjudgmental nature, will be missed by all who knew her. While our hearts may be broken, Lauren is flying with angels. Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 20, 2017 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville by Pastor Kevin West and Rocky Meadows. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Expression Church, P.O. Box 7773, Huntington, WV 25778.
