ObituaryDaniel Rayburn Stevens
Daniel Rayburn Stevens, 64, of Barboursville, W.Va., died Saturday, December 23, 2017 at his home in Barboursville. He was born on July 20, 1953 in Huntington, W.Va., a son of the late Charles and Lou Lessie (Rayburn) Stevens. He will be remembered as a charismatic, humorous and loyal friend who loved hunting, fishing, sports, and having fun with his family and friends. He worked at Owens-Illinois in Huntington, W.Va. and retired from RPM Inc. in Ashland, Ky. He spent many years coaching youth soccer, and he especially treasured the time he spent hunting with his family each year at Queens Creek in Prichard, W.Va. He was preceded in death by his infant sister Lavonne Stevens. He is survived by his son, Charles Jeffrey “Jeff” Stevens (Sarah) of Barboursville, W.Va.; one brother, Robert “Bob” (Eileen) Stevens of Peachtree City, GA.; three nephews, Kevin Stevens of Toledo, OH, David (Deanna) Stevens of Magnolia, DE, and James “J.R.” (Rebecca) Stevens of Fayetteville, GA; and two grandchildren, Cameron Jarvis and Rachel Stevens of Barboursville, W.Va. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 28, at Wallace Funeral Home in Barboursville, W.Va. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 29, at Wallace Funeral Home. All who wish to attend are encouraged. Dan’s personality will always be remembered by everyone who met him during a life that was filled with laughs and memories. “It’s been quite a party.”
