Obituary

Marjorie Wheeler Yeager Hoskin
(June 26, 2017)

Marjorie Wheeler Yeager Hoskins, 77 of Little River, SC, formerly of Barboursville, WV, went home to be with her Heavenly Father June 26, 2017. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents Mr. and Mrs. James T. Wheeler of Huntington, WV. She is survived by her beloved husband Charles (Don) Hoskins; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Thomas and Valerie Yeager of Jacksonville, FL, Joe Yeager of Clarkesville, GA and Matt and Sheree Yeager of Ona, WV; one daughter and favorite son-in-law, Amy and Robert Robinson of Proctorville, OH; one stepson and stepdaughter, CD Hoskins of Charlotte, NC and Cheryl Hoskins of Charleston, SC; one sister Dorothy Diehl (Herb) of Winchester, VA; eight grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Marjorie cherished the years she spent raising her children on the family farm in Barboursville, WV. Later in life she returned to school and graduated from Marshall University with a Master’s degree in special education. She taught special education at Hamlin High School and after retiring, she and her second husband Don moved to Little River, SC. There she was active with the Little River UMC prayer team and Good News Club (Child Evangelism Fellowship). Marjorie and Don’s church family have faithfully been a source of friendship and spiritual support for many years. Marjorie’s gentle spirit radiated through her smile and invited lifelong friendships. She taught others to see the hand of God in life despite the circumstances and knew how to love, forgive, and persevere. Marjorie’s life is an example of the beautiful tapestry God is able to stitch together from threads of joy and sadness. The family wishes to thank Mercy Hospice and her Little River UMC family for their support throughout her illness. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to Little River UMC Good News Club (Child Evangelism Fellowship). Memorial visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville.
