Joann Blankenship
(August 15, 1927 - May 26, 2017)



JOANN BLANKENSHIP, wife of the late Riley "Jack" Blankenship, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, May 26, 2017, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 28, 2017, at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Pastor Phil Chapman. Burial will be in Enon Cemetery, Salt Rock. She was born in Cabell County on Aug. 15, 1927, to Bob and Kathryn Hobbs Bailey. She was the granddaughter of Lyda and Jim Hobbs and the great-granddaughter of Mamie Martin of Barboursville. She had one brother, Jimmy Bailey, deceased. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Lonnie Joe and Leah Bledsoe of Huntington, W.Va., with whom she resided the last five years, and another son, Terry Lee Bledsoe of South Point, Ohio. She also has six grandchildren. She worked for the government and county and worked at Woolworth's store. She wanted to tell all her friends she appreciated all the good times and memories. Her CB handle was "firefly" on Channel 3. Her hobbies were rummage sales, eating out and giving to charities. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville.
