Albert T. Duke, Jr.
June 19, 1926 - January 19-2009


Albert T. Duke, Jr., 82, of Huntington, passed away Monday January 19, 2009 at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Huntington, WV. He was born June 19, 1926, in White Oak, Mississippi, a son of the late Albert T. Duke, Sr., and Frances Fields Jones Duke. Mr. Duke retired from the VA Regional Office in Huntington as a supervisor in the mail and records room. Survivors include three sons, Michael Duke and wife, Sharon of Independence, LA, Gregory Duke of Oxford, PA, and Jonathan Keeling and wife, Robin of Nicholasville, KY; a brother, Alvin W. Duke and wife Betty of Morganton, NC; a stepdaughter, Patricia Hayes of Lexington, KY; four grandchildren; and the loves of his life, Betty Boggs Keeling Duke of Huntington and his special dog, Leeza. Albert was a fifty year member of Huntington Lodge No. 53 AF & AM, and a 32nd Degree Scottish Scottish Rite of Freemasonry. He is a Past High Priest of Huntington Chapter No.6 R.A.M.; a Past Commander of Huntington Commandery No. 9, K.T.; a holder of the Knight Templar Cross of Honor; Red Cross of Constine of Charleston; Huntington Chapter #8 O.E.S.; York Rite College No. 137, Huntington. He also served in the Grand Commandery of West Virginia. Graveside services will be conducted 3:00 PM Thursday January 22, 2009, at the White Chapel Mausoleum with Dr. Paul Russell officiating, and Huntington Lodge No. 53 AF & AM, conducting Masonic Graveside Rites. Entombment will follow in the White Chapel Mausoleum, White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the cemetery. No flowers please, but donations in his name may be made to the First United Methodist Church, of which he was a member, at 1124 5th Ave, Huntington, 25701.
