Frances Evelyn Carter Erwin

Frances Evelyn Carter Erwin, 85, of Huntington, WV, loving mother and grandmother, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 7, 2009 in St. Mary's Medical Center, Huntington. She was born January 4, 1924 in Cabell County, WV a daughter of the late Leonard L. and Harriet A. Steele Carter. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Sebert "Tojo" "Curly" Erwin; a daughter, Sue Jarvis; a son, Danny Lee Erwin; two brothers, Clyde Carter and Scott Carter; a daughter-in-law, Judy Erwin; and a son-in-law, Jim Shockley. Mrs. Erwin attended Highlawn Full Gospel Assembly. Survivors include: two daughters, Sally Shockley of Proctorville, OH and Kay Mills of Columbus, OH; two sons and a daughter-in-law, William "Tom" and Jo Ann Erwin of New Boston, OH and Sebert "Butch" Erwin of Russell, KY; a son-in-law, Jake Jarvis of Huntington; a daughter-in-law, Dee Dee Erwin of Barboursville, WV; a sister, Mae Heaberlin; 16 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and a host of nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Saturday, January 10, 2009, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Rev. Acy Gibson and Rev. Harry Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Union Ridge Cemetery, Cabell County, WV. Friends may call from 6:00 to 9:00 PM Friday, January 9, 2009, at Chapman's Mortuary.
