David W. Keister
Feb. 1, 1930 - Jan. 26, 2009



David W. Keister, 78, of Georgetown Texas, died Monday after more than three years of battling with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Genera Keister of Elizabethtown, KY. David was preceded in death by his wife of fifty years, Madeline Ramey Keister, a son, John David Keister, and a brother, Walter Eugene Keister, Jr. He and Madeline are survived by two daughters Davelene Kay (David) Peddicord of Jacksonville, Fla, and Nora Sue (Jerry) Frye of Chesapeake; one son and daughter-in-law, Lyle "Tom" and Darlene Keister, with whom he made his home in Georgetown, Texas; one sister Charlotte Haznedar, Ridgewood New Jersey; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. David was born Feb. 1, 1930, and has been an active member of the Church of Christ where ever he lived. In the Huntington area: Twenty-sixth Street COC, where he served as an Elder for many years, Norway COC, and Rome; Clarksville, TN; Johnson City, TN; Surprise, AZ; and Elizabethtown, KY. David spent 40 years working at Ensign Electric and SMC Electrical Products. Funeral services will be at 2:00pm Saturday, January 31, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral. Family and friends will meet for dinner at 6:00 pm at the Rome Church of Christ following the burial at Community Memorial Gardens in Wayne County, WV. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Care or Rome Church of Christ, Proctorville, OH.
