Shirley T. Byrd
(June 30, 1938 - October 15, 2010)



Shirley T. Byrd, 71, of Huntington, WV, passed away Friday, October 15, 2010, at Cabell Huntington Hospital, after a short illness. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor Doug Spurlock officiating. Burial will be in Greenbottom Memorial Park. She was born June 30, 1939, in Lesage, WV, a daughter of the late Oscar and Alice Wintz. Also preceding her in death were sisters, JoAnn Dempsey, Betty Blake and Pearl Cabell. She is survived by nine children, Clinton Wintz, Dallas Wintz, Acie Byrd, Walter Byrd, Dreama Kessick, Thalia Byrd, Marsha Burd, Charline Forbush and Alannia Felix; seventeen grandchildren, Anthony Kessick, Randy Felix, Jacob Felix, Dereck Byrd, Aaron L. Byrd, Aaron Byrd, Austin Byrd, Justin Byrd, Brandon Forbush, Shauna Kessick, Tia Byrd, Amanda Kessick, Brittanie Byrd, Lakasha Kessick, Ashley Williams, Leisa Williams, and Ceara Byrd; and ten great grandchildren. She is also survived by six brothers, Junior Wintz, Earl Wintz, Jim Wintz, Jack Wintz, Carl Wintz and Robert Wintz; her sister, Patricia Cremeans; niece, Angela Cremeans; son-in-law, Doug Forbush; daughter-in-law, Peggy Byrd; and a family friend, Diana Norvell. She will be deeply missed by family and friends. Friends may call from 1:00 pm to service time Wednesday, October 20, 2010, at Chapman's Mortuary.
