Ronald M. Deitchman
(April 17, 1926 - October 20, 2010)


Mr. Ronald M. Deitchman, 84, of Huntington, died Wednesday, October 20, 2010 in St. Mary's Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Saturday, October 23, 2010, at Chapman's Mortuary, with Pastor Phil Wilson and Rev. James Bolen officiating. He was born April 17, 1926, in Huntington, a son of the late George and Ruth Sumpter Deitchman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an aunt, Ethel Sumpter Workman He was a retired Chemist with Special Metals, Inc., a member of Harmony United Methodist Church, VFW Post # 9738, whose members will conduct military graveside rites, and was a graduate of Marshall University. He served in the US Army during WW II. He is survived by a cousin, Sally Little of Pennsylvania; his caregivers, Richard and Delilah Hill, whom he considered his children; their son Richard Lee Hill, their daughter Jessica Hill, and her child, his "little buddy", Gregory Hill, all of Huntington, and many friends. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park. Friends may call at Chapman's Mortuary from 6 pm until 8 pm Friday, October 22, 2010.
