Ruth Carter Johnson
(June 12, 1922 - October 31, 2010)



Ruth Carter Johnson, 88, passed away Sunday October 31, 2010 at the Heritage Center Nursing Home. She was the widow of Lehman A. Johnson and was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers. Ruth was born at Milton, WV, on June 12, 1922, and was the daughter of Michael Edward and Annie Duty Carter. Ruth worked for the C & O Railroad for 32 years. Survivors include one sister, Rachel Carter Payne and one special sister-in-law, Patricia Carter. She also leaves several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly and they loved "Aunt Ruth" dearly in return. Ruth cared so much for her friends and counted as special her many years at the C & O. Ruth was a special person who supported several charities. Ruth accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior and anticipated her eternal home in heaven. She will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched. Graveside services will be conducted 1:00 PM Friday at the White Chapel Mausoleum. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. The family wishes to thank Hospice of Huntington for their wonderful care and encourage donations be sent to them in her name.
