Obituary



Our beautiful Aunt Jo, E. Joan Ashcraft, 87, of Huntington, WV, died Wednesday October 21, 2015 at Wyngate Senior Living Community. Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Saturday October 24, 2015 at Woodmere Memorial Park's Abbey of Remembrance with Rev. Angela Gay Kinkead officiating. Burial will follow. Joan was born October 22, 1927 in Wyatt, WV (Harrison County) a daughter of the late Howard Paul and Nell Blanch Humphreys Ashcraft. She was a retired Accountant from the H.K. Porter Company, and Black Diamond Produce and a member of the First United Methodist Church and graduated from Marshall College. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Cathleen Bates, Betty Jean Vanover and Pauline Wells. Survivors include three brothers, Howard Paul Ashcraft, Jr. of Huntington, Harold Jack Ashcraft of Street, MD, Edward Wayne Ashcraft of Miamisburg, OH, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Wyngate of Barboursville for all their loving care for our aunt. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society. Friends may visit with the family after 1:00 PM until service time Saturday at the cemetery. Chapman's Mortuary Huntington is assisting the family.
