Obituary


Frank Dorsey, of Huntington, WV, passed away Sunday January 7, 2018 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Tuesday January 9, 2018 at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Ben Chambers and Minister Bob McGlone. He was born in Calhoun, GA., the son of the late Douglas and Jessie Crump Dorsey. He was retired manager of the down town Huntington Postal Station where he was also personnel officer and customer service representative. He was a 60 year member of Crescent Lodge #32 AF&AM of Ceredo, where he was past master and secretary for 23 years. A ten year member of the Wayne County Board of Education, 12 year member of the Huntington and Park and Recreation District, member of the Board of Directors WCCS, Inc., Wayne County, president the Westmoreland Apartments Inc., former member of Marshall University Medical School Institutional Review Board, member and deacon at Vinson Memorial Christian Church and volunteer at the Huntington VA Medical Center for 21 years. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps having served in WWII. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Wilda Aliff Dorsey and two brothers Cale and Douglas Dorsey. Survivors include two daughters and sons in law Priscilla and Scott Lofsness of Maple Grove, MN., and Frances and Randy Ward of Huntington, WV, four grandchildren and spouses, Darla and Tim Pankratz, Rebecca and Pete Prokifieff, Randall Shawn and Tiffany Ward and Aaron Nicholas and Amber Ward, five greatgrandchildren, and a sister Geneva Hulsey of Calhoun, GA. Friends may call from 1-2 Pm Tuesday January 9, 2018 at the Reger Funeral Home. American Legion Post 93 will conduct military rites.
