Alberta Faye Hanlon, 84, passed away on 6 January, 2018 at the Wayne Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Faye was born October 14, 1933 in Wayne County WV to the late Roy and Polly Maynard. She was also preceded in death by 14 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, John F. Hanlon, brothers Donald Maynard; sisters Nina Marcum, Charlene Spaulding and Sue Grimmett; sons Mike (Pam) Hanlon of Proctorville OH, George (Debbie) Hanlon of Noblesville IN, James (Pam) Hanlon of Hardeeville SC, Charles (Joella) Hanlon of Huntington, WV; daughters Bonita (Jeff) Hudnall of Lincoln City OR, Kathleen (Selby) Litton of Huntington WV, and Patricia (Odie) Estep of Willow Wood OH. 15 Grandchildren, 13 Great-Grandchildren. She was actively involved for many years with the Sacred Heart School and Parrish as a substitute teacher and member of the guild. Faye worked for 28 years as a nurse for Dr. Gilbert Ratcliff Sr. and Dr. Bruce Ratcliff. The family would like to express their sincerest appreciation to all the staff at the Wayne Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their kindness, tenderness and well being of Faye and her family for the past 5 years. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, January 11 2018 followed by the praying of the Rosary. The Funeral Liturgy officiated by the Reverend Charles McGinnis will be on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 10 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church followed by internment at 1 PM at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East, Greenup, KY.
