Raymond Edward “Eddie” Ransbottom, 79, of Huntington, W. Va., passed away Saturday, January 6, 2018, at his residence. Memorial services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Grace Gospel Church, Huntington, by Pastor Jerry Matt and Pastor Keith Wiebe, Jr. Eddie was born July 21, 1938 in Huntington the son of the late Raymond Louie and Peggy Waite Ransbottom. He started working at the former Franklin Printing Company in 1956 and became owner in 1973, before retiring after 50 years of service in 2006. He was a 1956 graduate of Huntington High School. He was a former secretary and treasurer of the Printing Pressman Union. He was a U. S. Army National Guard Veteran. He was a member of Grace Gospel Church, where he was a member of the Patriot’s Mens Sunday School Class, a member of the Missions Committee, and former Sunday school teacher and usher. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Michael Lee Ransbottom, who was killed in Vietnam. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Carla Ransbottom; a son and daughter-in-law, Aaron and Lori Ransbottom of Lebanon, Ohio; a daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Bruce Thompson of Lavalette, W. Va.; nine grandchildren, Lauren, Rachel, Carinne, Maddie, Luke, Brooke, Cole, Carie and Chana; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Garee and Mary Ransbottom of Huntington, W. Va. and David and Suzann Ransbottom of Lavalette, . Va.; nieces and nephews include, Aimee, Lisa, Mickee, David and Joshua; and several great nieces and great nephews. Friends may call from noon until service time Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at the church. American Legion Post 93 of Kenova, W. Va. will conduct Military Rites. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mission Fund of Grace Gospel Church, P. O. Box 9128, Huntington, W. Va. 25704.
