JOHN B. FORTUNE
(April 24, 1927 - February 14, 2014)

JOHN B. FORTUNE, 86, of Huntington, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 14, 2014 in Murfreesboro, Tenn. John was born April 24, 1927 in Peach Creek, W.Va. He was a retired employee of CSX Transportation in Huntington. John was the son of the late John A. and Tina Hall Fortune. He is survived by his loving wife, Wanda Clendenin Fortune; one son, John W. Fortune (Carol Ann) of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; one daughter, Susan Shifflette (Dan) of Douglasville, Ga.; one sister, Ethel Smith of Virginia Beach, Va.; his grandchildren, Danielle and Deaven Shifflette; along with nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. The family will receive friends between 6 and 8 p.m. on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at the Wallace Funeral Home, 1159 Central Avenue, Barboursville, WV 25504. Funeral services for John will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, February 17, 2014 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by the Reverend James Jobe. Entombment will follow at the White Chapel Memorial Gardens, US Route 60 Midland Trail, Barboursville, WV 25504.
