Obituary

LARRY EUGENE SCHULTZ
(January 25, 1934 - February 22, 2014)


LARRY EUGENE SCHULTZ, 80, of Pleasantville, Ohio, formerly of Barboursville, W.Va., passed away Saturday, February 22, 2014. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 27, 2014, at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Pastor Brian Nipps. Burial will be in the Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, Dunbar. He was born January 25, 1934, in Huntington, a son of the late Vernon Lesage and Letha M. Dial Schultz. He was a retired concrete mason, a veteran of the U.S. Army, a member of Barboursville Baptist Church, and had attended Livingstone Baptist Church and Good Shepherd Baptist. He was a former councilman for the City of Barboursville, previously served on the Board of Directors of CCCSO, Chief Ranger for the Independent Order of Foresters, High Orator for the Mid-Eastern United States, Senator in the Silver Haired Legislature, Vice-President of the Cabell County Sheriff's Association and Vice-President of the Senior Citizens. He is survived by two sons, Lance Schultz of Cambridge, Ohio, and Craig Schultz of Barboursville and their mother, Nancy Schultz of Barboursville; one sister, Janice Gayle McElwee and her husband David of Hagerstown, Md.; three grandchildren, Elijah David Schultz, Sawyer Donovan Schultz and Reagan Marietta Schultz. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville.
