RUTH EVELYN BURGESS
(Frbruary 13, 1937 - November 18, 2014)

RUTH EVELYN BURGESS, 77, of Barboursville, passed away November 18, 2014. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, November 21, 2014 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Rev. Ron Burnsworth. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Huntington. She was born February 13, 1937 in Huntington, a daughter of the late Ezra D. and Mabel I. Shoemaker Adkins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest Burgess. She is survived by one daughter, Gale Houston (Thomas); two sons, Donald Burgess (Karen) and Steve Burgess (Tish); three sisters, Janet Scarberry (Bill), Barbara Booth and Jennie Lou Chapman; six grandchildren, Dawn Rene Callaway (Eric), Michael Houston (Mandy), Christopher Houston (Aubrey), Jennifer Noble (Brian), Tyler Burgess, and David Burgess; 12 great-grandchildren; and three special friends, Libby, Joyce and Debbie. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville.
