Heath John-McIntosh Vass
(December 31, 1994 - November 27, 2014)



Heath John-McIntosh Vass, beloved son and friend, died at home on Thursday, November 27, 2014. He was born on December 31, 1994 in Huntington, WV and was a lifelong resident. He was a graduate of Huntington High and attended Marshall University. A unique soul, Heath was very funny, and enjoyed making everyone laugh. He will be greatly missed. Heath is survived by parents, Rebecca J. Powers and Hank M. Vass; siblings Joseph M. Vass and Laura Heath Vass; maternal grandmother, JoAnn Powers; paternal grandmother Margaret Vass; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved him deeply. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, John D. Powers, Sr.; paternal grandparents, Robert E. Vass, Sr. and Hilda H. Vass; his cousin Drew O. Powers. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Mass will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, by Father Dean Borgmeyer. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Heath's name to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
