Ladena Mae Ellis Mannon, 79, of Ona, W.Va., entered the perfect rest of heaven on November 1, 2014. Preceding her in death were her parents, Nolan Manuel Ellis, Olena Johnson Ellis, and her son Derik Ray Mannon. Left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 60 years, Ray C. Mannon of Ona, daughters Manya McCallister and her husband Rod of Huntington, Monica Mannon of Asheville, N.C., Nancy Mannon of Monroe, N.J.; and grandchildren, Brandon McCallister of Huntington, Bradley McCallister and his wife Brittany of Glenside, Pa., Elizabeth Mannon of Lexington, Ky., and Catherine Mannon of Lexington, Ky. Ladena was born on August 27, 1935 and was raised in Lincoln County, W.Va. She was a graduate of Guyan Valley High School. She will be lovingly remembered for her blunt wit, tender spirit, and love of her Lord, her family, and of course Elvis. The family would like to offer their gratitude to the staff of Midland Meadows and Hospice of Huntington for their excellent care of Ladena. A visitation will be held at Wallace Funeral Home in Barboursville, W.Va., from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 with a memorial service to begin at 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ladena's honor to the Midland Meadows Staff Fund, 100 Weatherholt Drive, Ona, WV, 25545, Hospice of Huntington, P.O. Box 464, Huntington, WV, 25709, an animal rescue of your choice, or Gideon's International, Cabell Lincoln Gideons, P.O. Box 21, Ona, WV, 25545.
