ALMA M. HALE ADKINS ESTEP
(June 9, 1922 - October 31, 2014)



ALMA M. HALE ADKINS ESTEP, 92, of Lavalette, W.Va., formerly of Salt Rock, departed this life October 31, 2014. She was born June 9, 1922, in Salt Rock to the late Ward and Icie Adkins Hale. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Verlin J. Adkins Sr. and Earnest R. Estep; three sisters, Mollie Estep, Ruby Gue and Stella Lee; son-in-law, Paul Dewey Gill; and her stepdaughter, Sharon Morrison. She was a retired employee of Huntington Manufacturing and a member of Big Creek Baptist Church. She is survived by two children, Verlin J. Adkins Jr. and Georgette of Wayne and Nancy F. Gill of Salt Rock; five grandchildren, Patty Lee and her husband, Tim, Gregory Gill and his wife, Jean, Melissa Gill, Selena Draper and her husband, Lloyd, and Patrina Singleton and her husband Jason; six great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren and several stepgreat-grandchildren; three sisters, Helen Ferguson of Salt Rock, Vereda McCallister of Glen Allen, Va., and Carol Pratt of Acworth, Ga.; son-in-law, Bill Morrison; brother-in-law, Herb Lee; and several nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to thank her caregivers, Vickie and the staff of Pro Nursing, for their care. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2014, at the Wallace Funeral Home and Chapel, Barboursville, by Rev. Tom Hysell and Pastor Matthew Stepp. Burial will be in Baylous Cemetery. Grandsons and great-grandsons will be pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville.
