Obituary

IRENE NIDA
(January 4,  1926 - October 28, 2014)



IRENE NIDA, 88, of Salt Rock, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, October 28, 2014. She was born January 4, 1926 in Wayne County, a daughter of the late Cassie and Mary Adkins. She was of Baptist faith and a retired employee of Huntington Manufacturing. She was preceded in death by one sister, Ethel Mae Adkins, one brother, Alfred Adkins, and her step-son, Gene Nida. She is survived by her loving husband, Rev. Herb Nida; step-daughter Sheila Jobe and her husband, Frankie, of Salt Rock; step-son, Ray Nida and his wife Jo of Barboursville, step-daughter-in-law, Barbara Nida; two sisters, Dell Keesee and Ina Sansom both of Huntington; brother, Carlos Adkins of Ky.; step-grandchildren, Lesa and Joseph Nida, Shelley (Mike) Gibson, Ryan (Brittany) Jobe, and Missie (Brian) Cole; step-great-grandchildren, Jacob and Ethan Gibson and Amanda and Bethany Cole; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014, at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Funeral services will follow at 10 a.m. by Rev. J.R. Steward and Rev. Jason Black. Burial will be in Baylous Cemetery, Salt Rock. The family would like to thank Dr. Blake and the nurses on the 4th floor at St. Mary's Medical Center.
