Obituary

Dora McLaughlin Sharp
(February 7, 1926 - December 19, 2016)

DORA McLAUGHLIN SHARP, 90, widow of the late Berlin Dale Sharp, joined her husband of 70 years in heaven Monday, December 19, 2016, at Midland Meadows Assisted Living. Dora was an active member of Fellowship Baptist Church, Barboursville, WV. Dora and Dale shared a devout faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and His promises found in God's Word, the Bible. When the Lord sent His angels to bring Dora home, they found beside her chair the Bible open to where she last read. Dora was born in Pocahontas County, on Brown's Mountain, February 7, 1926, the daughter of the late Park and Birdie McLaughlin. She married her late husband March 11, 1947. Dale preceded Dora in heaven on September 5, 2016. They are the proud parents of a loving daughter, Joyce D. Warren and her husband Pastor Jerry Warren of Fellowship Baptist Church; and have two granddaughters, Jere E. of Nashville, Tenn., and Julie Ann of Charleston, W.Va. For many years Dora was the office manager of Dr. Robert Jennings, Orthodontist. She is the seventh of eight children, all who preceded her in heaven. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to Midland Meadows Assisted Living for providing Dale and Dora a safe, caring, comfortable home. Their care is so much appreciated by all the family. Visitation will be Friday, December 23, at 1 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Dora's life and her eternal life received as a gift from her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 2 p.m. in the Sanctuary of Fellowship Baptist Church, Route 60 East, Barboursville, followed by entombment in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. A special thanks to Wallace Funeral Home for their kindness to the family.
