Obituary

JAMES EDWARD ADKINS
(September 5, 1923 - January 30, 2016)



JAMES EDWARD ADKINS, 92, of Huntington, went home to be with the Lord January 30, 2016. Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Pastor Tony Mays. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park. He was born September 5, 1923 in Lorado, W.Va. a son of the late Odie and Tennessee Queen Adkins. He was preceded in death by his sister, Lenora. He is survived by his two sisters, Vivian Jones and Patty Bias of Huntington; and one brother and sister-in-law Robert and Shirley Adkins of Indianapolis, IN; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank a close neighbor and friend, Lillian Smith and her family, caregiver, Virginia Moses, Hospice of Huntington, and VAMC staff and doctors for their compassionate care. James was very grateful for the Sonshine that WORLD CHANGERS showed toward him. James was a graduate of Huntington High School, attended Marshall University and was an avid and loyal supporter and fan of Marshall University. Visitation will be after noon Wednesday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville.
