Obituary

MELISSA SNIDER ROSS
(November 7, 1964 - January 3, 2016)

MELISSA SNIDER ROSS, 51, of Huntington, began her Heavenly Journey on January 3, 2016 at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Missy's final unselfish and kind act on this Earth was to be an Organ Donor, a choice that she made long ago. She would be so happy and pleased that she was able to contribute something of this magnitude, to help others to live longer and better lives. Missy was a very giving and loving person, and helped many in any way that she could on her path through life. She was very special to many and a friend to all who knew her. She was born November 7, 1964, to Emery and Evelyn (Pierce) Snider in Huntington where she lived her life. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Charles R. Betts and Billy J. Betts; four nephews, Gregory Jordan, Leslie Jordan, Richard T. Betts, a special nephew Billy James Jordan; and a cousin Andrew Hutchison. Missy is survived by her two children, a daughter Dystiny Nacole Frye and a son Edward Deuce Ross; one sister and brother-in-law Carol and Billy Jordan; close family and friends Bob and Mona Jordan, Kimberly Jordan Hathaway who she was a sister to; cousins, Donna Hinchman, Mary Betts Coy, Kathy Hutchison, Sue Ellen Chapman and Sue Spitler; and special niece and nephew Ashley Parker and Todd Jordan-Hathaway. Friends Angie Gannon, Rhonda McClanahan and life-long friend Billy Gibson; a very special cousin Justin Price whom without, her organ donations would not have been possible; and a huge host of family and friends. We would like to thank Wallace Funeral Home for all they did to assist us, the ICU Team for their kindness and respect that was shown to Melissa and our family during this tragic time, and most of all to KODA for making Missy a hero. Please be Welcome to join us for a celebration of Missy's life at 6 p.m. Thursday, January 14, 2016, at Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville, with Pastor Paul Meadows officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
