Obituary


Elizabeth Teresa Adkins


Elizabeth Teresa Adkins, 61, of Huntington, WV, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2020, at her residence. She was born June 18, 1959 in Laramie, Wyoming a daughter of the late Paul Danford Adkins and Eileen Lenore Fletcher Payne. She was also preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Bessie Ealy; a brother, Paul David "Petey" Adkins; the man who raised her, Raymond Workman; and an aunt, Norma Nelson. Her daughter, Elizabeth Messinger of Barboursville, WV passed away within a few days of her. She was a graduate of Guyan Valley High School; was a Certified Nursing Assistant: and was a caregiver. Survivors include: two daughters, Deanna Messinger of Barboursville and Nannette Morris of Huntington; two brothers, Norman Adkins and Paul Danford Adkins, both of Colorado; a sister, Katharine Adkins of Cheyenne, Wyoming, her adoptive sisters, Sandy Hicks and Suzann Workman, both of Branchland, WV; the lady who raised her, Karen Workman Bichard; six grandchildren, Briona Bostic of Huntington, Nathaniel Paul of Huntington, Mollie Bruce of Hurricane, Carly Paul of Huntington, Destiny Wallace of Milton, WV, and Jacob Marks of Barboursville; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins, including Bobby Adkins and Loretta Adkins; and special friends, Derek and Amy Tomlin of Branchland. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, is assisting the family.
