Obituary
Okie Lee Caldwell (Okey), 75, of Lesage, WV, took his journey home to be with the Lord August, 24, 2020. Okie proudly served in the US Army, part of that time was spent in Korea. He retired from the Cabell Huntington Health department. His greatest love was attending church, singing, and spreading the word of the gospel. He leaves behind on this earth his wife Adonis Caldwell; his daughter Annie Caldwell; his grandchildren Gabrielle Caldwell, Collin Caldwell-Hart, Kyle Caldwell-Hart; and 2 great grandchildren Abbigelle Caldwell, and Azrielle Caldwell. Okie was the son of the late Oscar(Tot) and Betty Caldwell, and the son in law of the late Lois Brumfield. He was preceded in death by brothers Roger(Elizabeth) Caldwell, Bobby(Vickie) Caldwell, Rene Tassen, Leland Pottorff, Joe Brumfield, and a sister Sue(Frank) Reynolds. Additional survivors include: his siblings Deanna Pottorff, Wanda Tassen, Joyce(Shelly) Lapelle, Rick(Cathy) Caldwell, Maurice(Michelle) Caldwell, Thomas(Jeannie) Terry; special friends and family includes Charlie and Verna Simpson who always treated him like a son, Shawn(Susan) Stevens, Patrick Wheeler, Calvin(Angie) Gue, Barbara Terry, and Averill and Chris Burger who helped tremendously in his final days on earth. He also has many nieces and nephews who will miss him terribly. Till we meet again. No services at this time. Friends, family and church family will be notified of a celebration of life at a later date. Chapman's Mortuary is assisting the family.
