Hester Christian, 91, of Huntington, widow of Paul John Christian, died Saturday, December 19, 2020 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. She was born October 4, 1929 in Huntington a daughter of the late French and Emma Jean Scott Watts. In addition to her parents and husband, Paul of 66 years, other family that have preceded her in death were, four daughters, Carolyn Artrip, Janett Ramey (Douglas), Joann Bell (Arvel), and Marlene Lawless; three grandchildren, Paul Artrip, Gary Burchfield, and Kelly Gladeau; and two sisters, and six brothers. She was a homemaker. Survivors include three sons and their families, Homer Christian and children, Carmelitta "Hope" Christian and Homer Christian, Jr. (Amanda); Larry Christian; and Michael Christian (Tonya) and his children, Shane Christian (Krista), Matt Fuller (Sarah) and Jotesa Porter, all of Huntington; two sons-in-law, Charles Artrip, and his son, Boe Artrip, and Robert Lawless; additional grandchildren, Melissa Rowe Woodall (Jeremy), Tammy Christian Oberdorf (Eric), and Matthew Christian; and a sister, Mitty Law (Raymond) of Orville, OH. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Chapman's Mortuary, with Pastor Braxton Adkins officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Memorial at Docks Creek Cemetery, Kenova.
