Obituary



John Phillip "Flip" Heck, 58, of Huntington, WV, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2020, in WVU Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV. He was born June 28, 1962 in Huntington a son of Janet Savage Heck Garten of Huntington and the late Homer G. Heck. He was also preceded in death by: his wife, Ruby Sue Pennington Heck; half-brother, Brandon Heck; grandparents, Kermit Savage and Virginia Savage Allen; and Earl and Carrie Midkiff Heck; and his best friend, David Fraley. He was a professional painter and a Baptist by faith. In addition to his mother, survivors include: two sons, Chad C. Heck and Dustin S. Heck of Huntington; four step children, Jon Jon Johnson, David Boley, Stacy (Jason) Hicks and Alisha Parsons; a sister, Stephanie Heck of Huntington; and four grandchildren, Anthony Heck, Dustin Heck, Jr., K-Leigh Heck, and Allison Heck; seven step grandchildren, Scott Hicks, Kayleigh Hicks, Zoe Hicks, Aaligha Hicks, Jon Johnson, Jr., Isabell Johnson, and Jolee Chapman; and special friend and companion of 25 years, Sarah Zirkle. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, is assisting the family.
