Laura Alice Fry


Laura Alice Fry, 60, of Barboursville, WV, departed this life Monday, October 19th, 2020, at St. Mary's Hospital in Huntington, WV. Laura was born February 16, 1960, at Logan, WV, she was a daughter of the late Lewis (L.B.) and Maxine Sizemore Pennington. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Scott Fry, and one brother, Arthur Wayne Pennington. Laura's chosen profession was teaching but it was more than just a job to her; she loved teaching. She was smart, brave, and funny and kind to everyone she meet. She deeply loved her family and Dr. Seuss. She was a member of the Kuhn Memorial Presbyterian Church. Those left to cherish her memory include her son, David and his wife, Greta, her two grandchildren, Jordan and Alyssa, and great-granddaughter, Lilly, all of Barboursville, her stepmother, Glenda Pennington of Chapmanville, five sisters; Debbie McGinnis of Peterstown, Della Pennington and Michelle (Gary) Adkins of Chapmanville, Tina (John) Harris of Delbarton, and Angie Pennington of Harts; two brothers; Lewis and James Pennington of Harts and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Private Family Services will be held at the homeplace in Lincoln County. Chapman's Mortuary is assisting the family.
