Pearl Geneva Byrd
(October 2, 1932 - September 19, 2011)

Pearl Geneva Byrd, 78 of Huntington, WV passed away September 19, 2011 in Cabell Huntington Hospital. Funeral Services will be held 1:00pm Saturday, September 24, 2011 at First Baptist Church, Huntington, WV with the Rev. Paul Willis officiating. Pearl was born October 2, 1932 in Huntington, West Virginia a daughter of the late Eugene and Juanita McDonald Harless. She was a cook supervisor for the Cabell County Board of Education for many years. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, and one sister. Survivors include her loving and caring husband of 63 years James S. Byrd Sr., one sister, one son James S. Byrd Jr., two daughters Francine Pierson, and Linda Deering and one adopted daughter Vounda Scheffield all of Huntington, WV 7 grandchildren; Tobie Byrd, John Byrd, Joe Pierson, Sonya Parks, Amber Coleman, Sean Miller and Shawna Byrd, and 11 great-grandchildren; Elijah, Jordan, Maxwell, Alaysha, Pierson, Avery, Jalya, James, Ayriana, Dejah, and Amiah. Visitation will be two hours prior to services time at the church. Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home, Huntington is entrusted with arrangements.
