Wendell Chapman
(January 31, 1926 - September 28, 2011)

Wendell Chapman, 85 of Huntington, WV husband of JoAnn E. Chapman passed away September 28, 2011 in Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral services will be held 11 am October 5, 2011 at Young Chapel A.M.E with Rev. Reloy Gainey, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Springhill Cemetery, Huntington. Wendell was born January 31, 1926 in Columbus, OH a son of the late Frank P. and Iola Andrews Chapman. Wendell spent many years working for AT & T. He was a member of Young Chapel A.M.E Church. Wendell was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers; Frank, Kermit, Norman and Carl Chapman; three sisters; Lucille Givens, Iona Phillips, Arlene Clemmons and one step-son Nathan Hale, Jr. Wendell is survived by his loving wife JoAnn E. Chapman, two children Winifred Mills and Dennis Chapman (Alveta) both of Detroit, MI, and one step-daughter Crystal Myers of Huntington, WV, two grandchildren ,four step-grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. A host of other relatives and friends also survive. Visitation will be held 5-8pm, Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home, Huntington. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home, Huntington.
