Obituary

Cassie Francis Allen, 84, of Hurricane, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, October 2, 2008 after a long illness.  Funeral service will be conducted 2 PM, Sunday, October 5, 2008 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton with Rev. Art Hage officiating.  Burial will follow in Valley View Memorial Park, Hurricane.  She was born July 10, 1924 in Milton, WV a daughter of the late Morris and Lenia Morrison Chapman of Kilgore Creek Road, Milton.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Warren Allen; two brothers, Delbert and Gilbert Chapman; three sisters, Alice Osborne, Catherine Hatfield, and Lovie Persinger.  Cassie loved birdwatching, her flower gardens, and had a love for animals.  She was a good friend and neighbor and will be missed by all she leaves behind.  She is survived by her two sons, Walter Allen of St. Albans and Ray Allen of Hurricane; one daughter, Fay Lyon of Huntington; two brothers, Floyd and Joann Chapman of Daleville, Indiana and Delmer and Mazie Chapman of Staples, Minnesota; two grandsons, Darrell Ashworth and Junior Allen both of Hurricane; one great granddaughter, Emily Allen of Hurricane; a host of loving nieces and nephews; many friends and neighbors.  Visitation will be from 6 to 9 PM, Saturday, October 4, 2008 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton.
