MYRA MABLE GLUFF
(December 21, 1921 - September 7, 2009)

MYRA MABLE GLUFF, 87, of Barboursville, West Virginia formerly of Williamstown, West Virginia, passed away, Monday, September 07, 2009. She was born December 21, 1921 in Cabell County, West Virginia, the daughter of the late David and Lula Virginia Colegrove Sowards II. She was employed by Corning Glass Works in Parkersburg with 42 years of service and was a member of the AFL-CIO Local #570. She was the widow of Robert Clark Gluff who passed away February 8, 1989. She is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Thomas Erwin and Betty Louise Sowards of Proctorville, Ohio and twenty-one nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother David (Dave)W. Sowards III, two sisters Mary Icantha Waugh and Neva Iris Sibson; two nephews David W. Sowards IV and Joseph Stanley Waugh. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Parkersburg. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, September 9, 2009 at the Oak Grove Cemetery, Marietta, Ohio with the Rev. Brent Gibson officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Huntington. A special thank you to John and Gloria White caregivers and Jewell Lester.
