IRA FINLEY GRAHAM
IRA FINLEY GRAHAM, 82, of Milton, West Virginia, passed away Friday, September 25, 2009 at St. Mary's Medical Center. He was born December 1, 1926, in Huntington, West Virginia. He was the son of the late Ira and Nancy Jane Hall Graham. He graduated from Barboursville High School in 1944; joined the Navy just before graduation ceremony so his parents had to pick up his diploma for him. Ira worked as an Electrician's Mate on the USS Latimer during WWII. He obtained the rank of Captain with the Huntington Police Department where he was a member from August 6, 1953-January 2, 1979 and was the acting Chief of Police before he retired. He was also a security guard at GNB in Huntington. He attended Marshall University and the University of Louisville majoring in Criminal Justice. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ruth Graham, in 2001. He is survived by two daughters, and son-in-laws Peggy and Charlie Burgess and Pam and Steve Williams. He is also survived by six grandchildren: John Darren and wife Evelyn Worst, Tiffany Worst; Debbie Lynn and husband Shawn Powell, Danielle Marie and husband Carl Chatterton, Stephen and wife Susie Boreing, Mason Rickmers and 12 great-grandchildren Brianna and John Dale Worst; Amber Beckelheimer; Ty and Ethan Boreing, Jaelyn Carson, Katie, and Nate Chatterton; Janessa Powell, Kimberly and Kelly. We would like to thank our wonderful neighbors on Woodfield Drive for all their help and support. We love you all and will always remember your kindness. Memorial services will be conducted, Monday, September 28, 2009, at 11:00 A.M.at the Henson Mortuary with Bishop Tony Edmonds officiating.
