Obituary
Amanda M. White,
91, of Huntington, passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Cabell
Huntington Hospital. Memorial services will be on Saturday, January 12, 2013
at 2:00 pm at the Reger Funeral Home. Officiating will be Deacon Thomas
Ross, Southern Baptist Chapel, South Point Ohio. She was a graduate of Fort
Gay High School and retired from Owens Illinois Glass. Amanda was born on
April 17, 1921 in Wayne County WV the daughter of the late Calvin and Susie
Parks Roberts. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her
husband German White. Five brothers; Floyd, Logan, Percy, C. Edward, and
Harrison Roberts. Two sisters: Eunice Sams and Roberta Meredith. Also
nephews: Cletis Edward Staley and Keith Ray Roberts and great nieces: Drema
Jo Ison and Cheryl Ann (Ison) Gasner. She is survived by her daughter:
Vickie Lynn White of Huntington and Step son and daughter in law: Paul N and
Donna White of Kansas City, MO. Two brothers and sisters in law: Lewis and
Martha Roberts and William and Ava Roberts all of Prichard WV. brother in
law and sister in law: Harold and Juanita White of Summerville, SC and
Forest and Betty Nye White of Culloden, WV and Irene Nenni of Huntington.
Step grandchildren: Paul Allen, Robert Lee and Cameron White of Kansas City,
MO; Patricia Saw and Hal Skoog of Burke, VA. She helped care for special
nephew Floyd Ray and Alice Staley of Santa Monica, Ca.; nieces Kay and
Howard Rickus of Palm Desert, CA and Drema Reynolds of Scott Town, Ohio
during their childhood. She cherished the loving relationship that they
maintained with her throughout her life. Friends Tom and Judy Ross of
Chesapeake, Ohio and a host of loving friends and neighbors throughout
Huntington and the Prichard areas. Caring and longtime friends: Drs. Subhash
Kumar and Subrat Lahiry. Amanda was a devoted mother and homemaker, as well
as an accomplished seamstress and quilter. She was blessed with the gift of
beauty, a keen mind, a loving heart, as well as the gift of a long, active
life. Reger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
