Eloise Pennington
(September 9, 1922 - October 3, 2013)



Eloise Pennington, 91 formerly of Clifton Forge, VA passed away October 3, 2013 at Madison Park, in Huntington, West Virginia. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 6, 2013 by Pastor Kevin Snow at Woodmere Memorial Park’s Abbey of Remembrance on Avondale. Visitation will be from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. with the service starting at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow. Mrs. Pennington was born September 9, 1922 in Wayne County, WV a daughter of the late Forrest E. and Edith Bowen Spurlock. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Leslie Ray and Earl Pennington. She was a member of the Central United Methodist Church in Clifton Forge, VA, and of the Eastern Star, Clifton Forge chapter. She is survived by a brother, Jim Spurlock of Barboursville, sisters, Helen Ellis of Arden, NC and Margie McDonough of Yorba Linda, California. Also surviving are a son John Wesley Ray, the mother of his children Opal Shepherd Ray, grandsons; Leslie (Tammy) Ray, John Bruce (Jackie) Ray and Matthew Ray; granddaughters; Marsha (Terry) Adkins, Vickie Ann Ray, great-grandchildren, Ben (Angie) Ray, Brandon (Kristina) Ray, Nathan and Nicholas Adkins, and Hannah and Grace Ray, and great-great grandchildren Braylee bills-Adkins and Penni and Parker Ray, and special friend Mark Phillips. Also surviving is a step-son, Clarence “Cappy” Pennington, wife Barbara Casto Pennington, son Jeff Pennington and daughter Terrie Quentero all of Merritt Island, Florida. The family would like to thank the staff at Madison Park for the loving care they provided, with special thanks to Billy, her angel here on earth. In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association: WV Chapter, 1601 2nd Avenue, Charleston, WV 25387. Reger Funeral Home is assisting the family.
