Charles Donald Rodefer
(September 11, 1936 - October 20, 2013)



Charles Donald Rodefer (Rody) of Huntington, WV. passed away Sunday, Oct. 20th at home. He was born Sept. 11, 1936, son of the late Charles E & Annabelle Rodefer. Survivors include his wife of 57 years Sue Carol (Linkfield) Rodefer. Daughters-Andrea (Scott) Austin, Natalie (Ron) Kauffman, Sons-Troy (Lori) Rodefer, Jarrett (Jinky Duterte) Rodefer. Eleven grandchildren-Travis (Kristen) Austin, Kasey (Dave) Kodack, Nelson, Hunter & Bridgett Ward, Kyle (Robbin) Rodefer, Kory, Katie & Kristen Rodefer, Preston & Parker Rodefer. Three great grandchildren-Braden & Ella Austin, Jordan Rodefer. Rody a worked in the machine repair department and retired when the Owens Illinois plant closed in 1993 after 39 years of service. Rody coached for many years in Little League 1 baseball and League 1 girl’s softball. He was a member of The Vinson Athletic Association having served as treasurer. Moving to Tampa Florida, he worked for Publix Supermarket for nine years before returning to Huntington, WV. Rody made many lifelong friends from work and youth sports. One of his highlights was to spend an entire evening talking to his baseball hero ‘Stan the Man' Musial of the St. Louis Cardinals. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Saturday at the Reger Funeral Home. A memorial service will be conducted at 5:00 p.m. at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor Earl Booten.
