CATHERINE ROSE WILKINSON

CATHERINE ROSE NICELY WILKINSON, 85, went home to be with her Lord, from Midland Meadows in Ona, W.Va., on February 23, 2017. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 2, 2017, at Wallace Funeral Home in Barboursville, W.Va., and at 11:30 a.m. Friday, March 3, 2017, at Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church, Williamsburg, Greenbrier County, W.Va. Funeral services will be conducted at noon Friday at Andrew Chapel by the Rev. R. Denver Tiller and burial will follow in the church cemetery. Catherine was born November 8, 1931, in Richwood, W.Va. She was raised by her grandmother, Mollie B. Nicely, in Trout and Williamsburg, W.Va. She was preceded in death by Rondel Wilkinson, her husband of 51 years, and her brother, Paul Ray Nicely. Survivors include one son, Robert E. Wilkinson and wife Rebecca of Proctorville, Ohio; one daughter, Pamela W. Edwards and husband James of Harrisonburg, Va.; three grandchildren, Ashley Wilkinson, Benjamin Edwards and Jeffrey Edwards; and cousins and close friends. Catherine graduated from Williamsburg High School and Mountain State College. She worked at the Ronceverte National Bank and the Federal Women's Reformatory in Alderson, W.Va., and married Ron on August 10, 1957. They were stationed at Air Force bases around the world. Catherine was a homemaker and was an active member in church wherever she lived. This included Protestant Chapels, Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church and Steele Memorial United Methodist Church in Barboursville, where she has been a member for more than 40 years. The family would like to give special thanks to Steele Memorial UMC, Midland Meadows, where Catherine lived for the last three years, and Hospice of Huntington. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, Box 110, Williamsburg, WV 24991.
