Phil McMullen
(July 28, 1947 - April 26, 2012)


Phillip L. McMullen, 64, of Huntington, husband of Pamela Rucker McMullen, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2012 at his residence. He was born July 28, 1947, in Huntington, a son of N. Jay McMullen of Proctorville, OH and the late Marcella Bailey McMullen. He was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis McMullen and Georgia Gibson McMullen. Mr. McMullen is survived by his wife Pam, daughters, Michelle Salyers, of Ironton, OH, Sara McMullen, of Ottumwa, IA and son, Joey McMullen. Additional survivors include his sister Terry (Ronald) Ferguson of Proctorville, OH, brother Gary (Patti) McMullen of Huntington, 4 grandchildren: Georgia, Hanna, and Izabella Benavidez and Marley McMullen, as well as several nieces and nephews and other family members. “Bubba” leaves behind many dear friends; he never knew a stranger. He was a retired sales manager with Factual Photo and a U. S. Air Force veteran. He was also a Member of B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge #313, where he twice served as Exalted Ruler, a member of American Legion Post #16, a Kentucky Colonel, a member of the Ohio Valley Masonic Lodge #536 of Crown City, OH, and the El Hasa Shrine. Phil was a devoted fan of Marshall University Sports, the Cleveland Browns, and the Cincinnati Reds. He was an avid golfer, having had the distinction of recording 2 double-eagles at Diamond Links Golf Course. Memorial donations may be forwarded to the Elks National Foundation Scholarship Fund at 2750 N. Lakeview Ave., Chicago IL 60614-2256. Visitation is scheduled at Chapman’s Mortuary from 4:00 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 29, 2012. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 30, 2012 at Chapman’s Mortuary with Dr. David B. Lemming officiating. Elks Funeral Ritual will be provided by the officers of the Huntington B.P.O.E Lodge #313. Military honors will be given by the Veterans Honor Guard from American Legion Post #16.
