Mr. Fred Rutherford, 76, of Proctorville, OH, widower of Evelyn Elizabeth (Spears) Rutherford, passed away Thursday, April 5, 2012 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Chapman’s Mortuary, with Pastor Buddy Muncy officiating. Burial will be at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, WV, with Military Graveside Honors by the Veterans Honor Guard. He was a retired Steel Worker at Steel of West Virginia with 49 years of service. He was born April 25, 1935 at Huntington, WV, a son of the late Thomas and Ida Stapleton Rutherford. He was a veteran, serving with the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of VFW Post # 9738, and a life member of American Legion Post # 16, and United Steel Workers Union # 37. Survivors include 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Angela and Keith Seelbinder, of Huntington and Kelly Emmett of Aniger, NC; a son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Connie Rutherford, of Huntington, 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Freda Adkins of Branchland, WV and Virginia and Bob Morrison of Ocala, FL. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Emogerne Dolin Jones Hospice House, 3100 Staunton Road,, Huntington, WV 25702. Visitation will be from 6pm until 8pm, Friday, April 6, 2012 at Chapman’s Mortaury.
