Nell Vass Gallaher
(October 9, 1923 - March 11, 2013)

On March 11th, 2013 Nell Vass Gallaher, 89, of Huntington, WV, went to be with her Lord and Savior and her husband of 64 years, Robert Wesley Gallaher, Sr. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 PM Friday March 15th at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor David Lemming officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington. Pallbearers will be Robert Nicholas Gallaher, Casey and Wesley Beever, Andy and Adam Barber, and Richard Cook. Nell was born October 9th, 1923 in Huntington. A daughter of the late Otis G. and Alma Vass. Also preceding her in death were 4 siblings, Charles Vass, Zella Vass, Virginia Garrett, and Edna Williams. She was a retired business owner of Nell's Closet which she operated for over 23 years. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, as well as a member of Lewis Memorial Baptist Church. In recent years, Nell shared a special love with her two canine companions, Princess and Pixy. Survivors include: Her children, two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Sam Beever of Proctorville, OH and Deborah and Lyle Henderson of Huntington; two sons, Robert W., Jr. and Becky Gallaher, of Huntington and Gregory Gallaher and Danah Bowman of Myrtle Beach, SC; her eleven grandchildren and their spouses, Kimberly Wolfe, Michelle Gallaher, Melinda Gallaher, Melanie and Mark Petry, Wesley Beever, Samantha and Richard Cook, Casey and Ashley Beever, Andy and Celeste Barber, Adam Barber and his fiancée Laurie, Robert Nicholas Gallaher and Meredith Gallaher, and their mother, Sherry Nichols; her sixteen great-grandchildren; her three great-great-grandchildren; and her two special friends, Cyndi Lamb and Rose Pennington. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Lewis Memorial Visitation Ministry and/or Hospice of Huntington. Friends may call from 11 AM to 1:30 PM on Friday March 15th at Chapman's Mortuary.
