Josephine Elizabeth Roland 85, of Huntington, passed away Friday, March 22, 2013 in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral services will conducted 12:00 noon Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Chapman’s Mortuary, with Pastor Trent Eastman officiating. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Memorial Park. She was born August 19, 1927 in Wise County Virginia, a daughter of the late Edward and Gertrude Mullins Lawson. In addition to her parents her husband Charles A. Roland and one daughter, Elizabeth Diane McAlister also preceded her in death. She retired from Sears and Roebuck as a retail sales clerk. She was a member of the New Baptist Church, the Adult Bible Class, and the Sears Retiree Club. Survivors include, two daughters, Debbie Mozingo and her husband Ray of Culpepper, VA, Nancy Spradling of Huntington; three sons, David Roland and wife Cindy of Wilmington, NC, James Roland, Sr., and wife Eugenia of Huntington, and Danny Roland also of Huntington; a son-in-law, Gary McAlister; 12 grandchildren; Jason and Carey Roland, Joshua Roland, Chri and Kristen Montsinger, Michelle and Rob Osborne, James Roland Jr, and Christy, Brandy Lusk, Ronnie and Nancy Lusk, Donnie and Brook Lusk, Danielle Roland, Ezekiel Roland Nathan McAlister and Damon McAlister; and 14 great-grandchildren, Lucas Montsinger, Hannah Osborne, Bailey, Brooklyn and Bentley Roland, Kyle Grimes, Coby Roland, Kaylee Roland, Brianna Lusk, Madison and Abigail Lusk, Tegan, Marlee and Mckenzie Roland. Friends may call one hour prior to service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
